We are happy to welcome you and
your child(ren) to Generations! We
are committed to service of the
highest standard and will do all we
can to make your child feel loved
and safe while he/she is in our
care.

The purpose of Generations Family Center is to provide quality and professional care for children ages 6
weeks to 12 years old, while working closely with parents to establish an environment that is safe and loving.
We will teach your child to have healthy self-esteem, be honest and caring, to share, have respect for others
and Biblical principles at an early age. Our center will be a beacon-light to the city of Prichard and
surrounding communities.

Immunization records must be kept current and submitted
to the center upon receiving updates. Children are not
permitted to attend school if their Immunization records
are expired.
8
During the months of August to May children are
required to wear uniform. The uniform is red
polo style shirts and khaki pants or shorts. Girls
are permitted to wear skirts with shorts
underneath. All children should wear closed toe
shoes. During the summer months children may
dress as they choose. Parents are encouraged to
send children in clothes that will allow them to
participate fully in play based activities, with
knowledge that their clothes may get stained or
soiled.
Children of all ages are required to have a
complete set of change of clothes at the center
at all times. Be sure to label children’s clothing.
9
The center serves breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, along with
a milk or juice at each meal. We follow CACFP meal guidelines. Any
child who has special dietary needs must have written
documentation from a doctor on file in order to be served
alternative foods and beverages.
10
Behavior Policy
The program believes the best insurance
preventing behavior problems in the classroom
is to do a good job of planning the daily
activities. However, no matter how well planned
a day is, conflict may erupt. Discipline problems
are handled in a matter-of-fact way that
encourages children to develop inner controls.
The provider redirects a disruptive child in a
calm, and positive manner.
Photographs and Videos
All parents are asked to give consent for
photos and videos to be taken of their child
in various activities. Administration
reserves the right to photograph children
for curriculum purposes without specific
parental consent. Opting for your child to
not be photographed or videoed may
prevent them from participating in some
activities.

Toys and Devices From Home
We ask that children’s toys and devices stay
at home, unless they are brought in for pre-
arranged sharing at group time. Toys and
devices from home are difficult to share at
other times, and we cannot be responsible
if they become lost or broken.
Inclement Weather
We follow the lead of the Mobile County Public
School System. We will do everything possible to
remain open in the case of inclement weather, but
must consider the safety of our staff, their families,
and our students. In the event that the center
operations must be altered, parents will be notified
with as much notice as possible.
If the power is to ever go out in the Center and is
out for 30 minutes or more, per DHR we must
close.
12
Parents are asked to keep sick children home until they
are symptom free for 24 hours. Some common
conditions for which a child may need to remain home
or be sent home are as follows:
Fever Strep Throat
Diarrhea Ear Infection
Vomiting Respiratory Infection
Impetigo Hand-foot-mouth Disease
Conjunctivitis Lice
13
Each child’s birthday will be
recognized at the center. If a
parent or guardian wishes to
send in a special snack for their
child’s class, arrangements
should be made with
administration and the child’s
teacher in advance. Food brought
in should be store bought,
delivered in sealed packaging, and
free of nuts. No parties are
allowed.
